Defining products
The FULL version of the RS Dachy system allows you to define any number of products that can be used during the quotation; both in the RS Dachy5 Desktop programme and in the roof configurator. Only the company's main user has access to edit products. All changes made within the product dictionary (for example, new products) by the main user, are immediately visible to the other users (the programme must be restarted).
Changes made to existing products will affect new offers. If you want a change to a product (e.g. width of coverage) to be reflected in an existing offer, open the offer, delete the product from the offer and then add it again.
The product database is available after logging in at rsdachy.pl under RS Dachy5 / Products.
To add an item, select the New Product button. The button is only available to the company's main user.
In the first step, the basic information must be specified:
- Calculation algorithm - defines how the software should calculate the material requirement. For more on this see calculation algorithms
- Product code
- Product name
- Manufacturer - sub-supplier name
- Product description
After selecting the Create button, additional information must be specified. On the Basic data tab :
- Quantity calculation - selectable: running metre, square metre, piece.
- Precision of quantity - how the quantity is to be rounded (whole values, decimals, hundredths, thousandths)
- Link to technical specifications - online link to product page with technical specifications
- Product baskets - for non-covered products, you can assign the product to baskets. The functionality of baskets is described productbaskets
- Product image - allows you to upload a product image in PNG format with a maximum resolution of 300x300 pixels.
- Active - determines whether the product is available for calculation, unchecking will result in the product not being available for selection when creating an offer.
- Feature schema - optionally you can plug in a predefined feature schema product features. The scheme allows you to specify on the offer e.g. coating, colour, etc.
The Parameters tab contains specific information depending on the selected algorithm. Based on these, the demand will be calculated.
- Trapezoidal sheets and panels - a type of covering that is vertically uniform, cut to a size that allows any length of sheet to be joined together vertically. Characteristic coverings calculated with this algorithm are trapezoidal sheet, standing seam sheet. It allows alternate jointing, vertical or horizontal sheeting. It is also possible to calculate façade coverings with an expansion joint instead of overlapping.
- Tiles - pressed, modular, cut-to-size roofing. Joints only in accordance with embossing. Algorithm used to calculate cut-to-size sheet metal roofing
- Flashings - Roof flashings/finishings such as ridge tiles, wind vane, valley gutter, over and under gutter strip.
- Corners - Roof corners.
- Accessories per piece - accessories that can be counted from the standard per m2 of roof.
- Modular roofing sheets - Stamped roofing sheets of fixed length and width, sold by piece or length.
