# Defining divisions

If the sheets need to be joined in a dividing line, for example because of the location of the columns where the sheets are joined, we can use the function to define divisions.

On the Project tab for a specific slope, select the option Create Y-splits or Create X-splits (for horizontal mounting).

On the form, we define the distance of the columns.

Once created, the divisions are displayed on the drawing with a dashed line (1). The positions of the dividing lines can be edited in the Project tab for a specific slope (2).

On the Materials tab, after selecting the covering, select Mounting method to by pitch lines (1) and select the Optimise button (2). The sheets will be combined according to the predefined pitch lines (3).
